Flu Nosode: Homeopathic Remedy for Infuenza Treatment and Prevention

By September 29, 2015No Comments

Flu Nosode 2015-2016Flu Nosode is a homeopathic remedy that is made from small amounts of the current years’ vaccination for influenza. Repeated dosing with this “essence” of influenza may cause the body to become less sensitive to the covered strains of influenza. Flu Nosode has been used both during active influenza symptoms and to prevent symptoms after exposure to the flu.

Since Flu Nosode is a homeopathic remedy, it will not interfere with other prescription or over-the-counter medications.

Children as young as four years old have taken Flu Nosode. The patient must be able to hold solution in mouth for 30 seconds before swallowing.

Directions for Use: A dose of Flu Nosode is equivalent to 10 drops. This should be held in the mouth, without swallowing, for at least 30 seconds. Placing drops under the tongue is best. Do not eat or drink anything 30 minutes after dosing. Avoid mint-flavored foods (mouthwash, mints, etc.), coffee and other strong flavored foods and beverages for at least 30 minutes before and after dosing. It has been recommended to avoid mint and coffee during the entire treatment period, as these strong flavors may interfere with the efficacy of Flu Nosode.

To aid future resistance and recovery: Ideally administration of Flu Nosode should begin during the fall, about the time the influenza vaccine becomes available. Take one dose (10 drops) of Flu Nosode daily x 3 days, weekly on the same day of the week for three weeks, then one dose monthly throughout influenza season.

Acute outbreak: Adults: Take one dose (10 drops) of Flu Nosode 3 times daily until symptoms are cleared.  Flu Nosode can safely be taken with other treatments for influenza such as acetaminophen, antihistamines, decongestants, etc.  Children 4-12 years: take ½ of adult dose.
